Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.

Scope of Position:

Support, strengthen and implement Quality Systems and Architecture within the organization to support business, customer & industry requirements. Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to effectively accomplish technical assignments and mitigate risks associated with process, product, and equipment changes. Make decisions based upon sound engineering and scientific methods.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of quality systems including document control, corrective & preventive actions, and management of change

  • Implement new quality systems within available division and corporate framework

  • Support performance excellence activities within the facility

  • Facilitate the ISO 9001/IATF 16949 certification process

  • Manage the facilities internal audit program including QMS, product and process audits

  • Facilitates efforts in understanding processes capability and product quality architecture.

  • Designs new and improves existing quality architecture systems.

  • Analyze data to support quality engineering projects

  • Make updates/changes to plant Quality Systems as needed.

  • Develop, track and report out quality metrics at the plant and division level

  • Facilitation of lean programs within facility

Required Skills/Education

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent technical degree.

  • Knowledge of statistical methodology

  • Ability to learn and develop quality systems

  • Ability to articulate risks and influence decisions on product quality

  • Ability to design, execute and analyze experiments using statistical tools

  • Ability to drive to root cause analysis and direct Engineering solutions

  • Ability to learn and understand multiple areas in the plant in order to prioritize work and resources

  • Experience with data collection and data analysis software and techniques, including Excel, MiniTab, JMP, SPC XL, DOE Pro, Pi, Access, PowerBI, etc.

Desired Skills:

  • Six Sigma/DMAIC training

  • Product Quality Architecture training

  • Knowledge of quality systems

  • Data analysis and statistical tools understanding

  • Experience with IATF16949, ISO 9001, VDA or similar certification process

The range for this position is $62,764.00 - $86,301.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
